"Now that 75+ nations have shown they are motivated to make a deal, Trump can take them down to 10% for 90 days, to give all these nations time to negotiate a new trade deal in good faith.
But they know in the back of their mind, that if they don’t reach a fair and reasonable deal in a timely fashion, the tariffs are going back up, and they know Trump is not afraid to go through with it, because they just watched him do it.
Trump is showing the world he means business, and is giving them an opportunity to capitulate. Trump had to prove to the world that he holds all the cards, and he is willing to use them.
Every once in a while, the lion has to show the jackals who he is."
What many people don’t understand, or don’t want to admit, is President Trump and his core team are masters at war gaming every decision. They don’t take anything lightly and plan everything extensively.
As a real estate developer President Trump has to be a top notch project manager. It’s a set of skills that serves him well as President and Commander in Chief. I remember very clearly a remark he made after the 2016 race was called. He looked at the people on stage with him and said this will be an interesting project.
My whole thing with this is simple. Good behavior gets rewarded and bad behavior punished. So the reward for those being good and coming to the table get lower tariffs and Chyna who behaved badly, gets hit with 125% punishment. Its just logical. You don't punish those who are making the changes. You encourage them with reward.
