They don't want to pay their own tariffs for the planes. All they have to do is drop their tariffs and they get the planes at normal price.
They'll just go and purchase some Eurotrash planes. Boeing will probably keep up production and reallocate those planes to some South American airline for a discount. Boeing will take a write off for tax purposes. Yawn. China will begin to squirm, this is just them testing the waters if they impose a 100% ban on all American products. If they do, then President Trump would really have them by the short hairs. We are their number one exporter, without us they won't product anything. I say for President Trump to keep up the pressure, sure we will feel pain at Walmart by not having plastic trinkets to purchase, but I don't think America will sink by not purchasing Chinese goods.
