So a team of IT nerds that really didn’t do much. Not even their assigned duties if the amount of drones penetrating Military/DOD airspace is any indication.

Very true. I was an Admirals driver (duty days) as an E-6 EOD Tech and drove my 2-Star to/from Pentagon on a regular basis. Upon arrival, I was always asked (not ordered) to walk in with him. Upon arrival, I was always greated with a cup of coffee by an 0-6 (Captain/Colonel). Trust me, that was weird... but it actually happened.
