They seem to be headed that direction. There's a lot of federal bureaucracy between them though.

Congress may Impeach them, but the Executive still has the U.S. Marshals, an why Trump isn't openly using them is beyond me....

IMO, they Do have the authority to directly Arrest anyone in the Federation....
