Not Likely. The PA still would have their weapons and be able to defend. The PA still holds a grudge against Hamas for all the deaths that occurred during their reign of PA members, but they would likely defend Hamas if Israel chose such a reckless path. (and FYI, not the downvote)
Average lifespan in Gaza is already so bad the average age is mid-teenagers. Historically speaking, when an invading genocidal army disarms the survivors they don't start living longer on average.
Also, to use the US as a historical example, when an invading army comes to confiscate guns and powder the native population gets MORE violent. At least in the US's case the invaders lost. In this case, the invaders are backed by nuclear bombs and I just don't see the native population surviving.

So, the idea here, seems to be disarming ONLY HAMAS? And how does one differentiate, and not kill the 'good Palestinians'? At the moment it seems that even children are haMAS. But in general, I think the people inside dislike IDF soldiers and snipers more.
Considering Egypt's involvement here, that may be part of the point. The PA is actually part of the negotiations, and may be given the 'green light' to take over without Israeli interference. They may even be given the 'privilege' of dealing with Hamas members themselves.
