If you read a lot, you'll notice it's always the quasi "intellectuals" who like to talk about how "IQ is meaningless" blah blah BS.
But note that high IQ people such as Trump, Elon, etcare the ones who always talk about it and I can tell you exactly why...
Because if you're 100 IQ, and you're talking to someone that's 70 IQ, You know it.
It's similar for an individual with a 130 IQ talking to someone with a 100 IQ.
But it's difficult to get the 100 IQ person to understand how obvious it is to the person that's 130.
You just get mocked.
Remember when you were a kid thinking you were 'so clever' pulling one over on your parents?
And when you have kids of your own and you see them try the same "clever tricks" you tried at their age... it's so painfully obvious to you now, but they can never even grasp it at the level they're currently at.

I know a guy who hasn’t had a job in over a year just because he’s taking a break to play video games and other such non constructive things. I’ve never met anyone who acts like he knows so much about so many things but can be so loudly wrong. But his obnoxious overconfidence gets him attention. Literally will tell you his motto is “fake it until you make it”. Well, he’s faking plenty…
I have worked with some really (really) smart people during my career. “I don’t know” was an acceptable answer to a question. It had better be followed by “but I do know who does know the answer”. This often led to the people who actually invented the technology or wrote the software. This, for example, is how I came to understand the calculus behind the computation of compound interest.

Yep, I learned early as well. A senior analyst did a half hour of the calculus of exponential functions for the deep background of how it works mathematically. The answer as applied was to calculate an average daily rate and apply it to the account balance every night!

But on a less superficial level… A Stress test informs on how well the heart functions under physical stress. It also helps determine exercise capacity and the effectiveness of treatment for existing heart conditions.
So ya... an IQ test informs on intellectual capability... to help determine mental capacity to, for instance, fully understand the first comment.
