And there it is... Rand Paul is organizing Senators to stop Trump’s tariffs on Communist China not b/c he believes in “free markets”...He’s doing it b/c his top PAC donor is a major TikTok investor and has hundreds of investments in China...It’s all about the PAC $$, not principles

🤬 CABAL SCUMBAGS 😡
No foreigner should be able to get money into our elections, ever.
Really, we might shouldn’t be able to either. Elections seem like they shouldn’t be determined by what are effectively bribes, nor special interests, nor even general interests, but by what’s best for the nation at large.
How could we make elections financially independent, or is the thought of getting money out of them (as much as possible) going to be naive?
Seems as sensible as other thoughts. To a degree, it doesn’t matter what rules we put in place to limit them, without vigilance and an informed and diligent population, people are going to keep finding ways to circumvent them.
I've been saying this for years, America will always be deeply vulnerable if elections can be bought! We must eliminate ALL money from elections. All candidates get an equal platform, equal exposure, equal opportunity. It's not an auction or a popularity contest. Let special interests die a horrible death. Politicians will still be comprisable, of course... but at least they could no longer be bought up-front by donors.
Maybe each candidate on national level nexts X amount of minutes of advertising in their area they are representing. They can hold town hall meetings at the local city, county etc meetings. There has to be a way around it
I was thinking this too, but who controls the website, and how do you prevent nefarious shadow banning or boosting being done on the back end?
