Aside from the actual content, which is great, in general it's just really nice to see younger men acting like men and not soy boys.
And AsheinAmerica rocks. She is the toughest thing around, and so down to earth. I met her at one of their Great American Restoration Tours.
I highly recommend The Narrative and Devolution Power Hour. I have been watching Jon Herold's Daily Herald off an on too. And Baseless Conspiracies is also fun. I should get on the live chat but I usually listen after the episodes are recorded, fall asleep listening, and then have to try again LOL. It's oddly comforting, knowing that there are some supremely based young people out there.
As different hosts have moved in and out of Badlands, they’ve gone from being a multiple-daily listen for several years to a regular. Rambo and Frens have definitely joined the list, and Gunnels has reupped his individual channel’s production.
It looks like Just Human is coming back online, if anyone wants to swing back around, and it’s good to be seeing Beer at the Parade (early badlander) again.
Wish it was all still in one place, but it’s probably good that there can be more reach and independence as well.
To not divert too far from OP’s focus, BB’s narrative, Ghost’s history, and RP78 are definitely all top notch, and Daily Herold is effective.
Sorry to ask a silly question, but is Patrick Gunnels still on Badlands? I've seen him on other peoples (non-Badlands) channels and I can't figure it out.
No, he left. The only two that weren’t just, reconfiguring, were Just Human and Tina Peters. Tina said something that was a company issue, and JH had personal issues going on, among other things.
I’d rather they just loosely coupled instead of decoupling, in the same way R&F does, but it is what it is.
Anyone can say what they want about him, but Badlands doesn’t start without him.
The Just Human thing was a drag. Judging from the last DPH with his abrupt departure I think he and Herold just had incompatible personalities.
I miss him though because he and Burning Bright were a great combo. Even the intro to that Defected podcast was good LOL, one of the few I would not fast forward.
I have noticed that Ashe and BB are good together too, and I love Chris Paul and BB on Story Hour which I forgot to list as a fan fave.
I have a lot of respect and compassion for Just Human. He's been through the wringer.
The 3-year Defection series stands as great accomplishment. Indeed, BB and JH were an amazing combo.
Nice to see Ghost being brought on board. If I recall, I first heard about him via him making comments in the chat on the Defected stream. Now, he's a major BL contributor.
I saw JH say something like: "It's a bummer about Patrick but..." Then he just disappeared. Thanks very much for the update.
i catch just human n beer too. yes, having all these shows linked on one site would be great
