While this may in fact be legitimate.

It’s got all the hallmarks of a get rich quick scheme. Elderly man who statistically speaking could go any day. Which would make it difficult for him to defend himself. Claims that are difficult to verify. Wanting very large sums of money rewarded as damages. And seeking to try the case in the court of public opinion first.
