Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

A Song: https://youtu.be/Yf6C0L_7-CA?feature=shared (to honor my Dad. His birthday was May 8th. He served in WWII.)
A Verse (a favorite of my Dad's): Romans 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
You got me thinking about my dad. His birthday is the 12th. He was born on Mother’s Day. Of all the people I miss, he is the one that I wish was here at this time in history so he could see this. Everything he told me is being revealed. He’d have so many little things to tell to color the picture. I love you, Dad! I miss you more than you’ll ever know.
This a beautiful reminder of your Father’s sacrifice to go and fight a war and leave a family behind to do so. His commitment to Christ is a beautiful thing to see. His scripture is one we should all hold close to our hearts. Thank you for sharing . ❤️
Rarely heard, but strangely relevant fact: "Nixon bombing Hanoi"
Anyone here heard of this before? I for one got baffled when I first read that phrase in an old Japanese book that I was sure I misread the sentence. When I looked into it, it was very real. And it was not an insignificant affair either.
It was called Operation Linebacker ii
It lasted through the Christmas of 1973 and tons of B-52s were lost, many American crew were killed and North Vietnam was reduced to pulp.
The irony? The end result of the bombing was the signing of the agreement that US and North Vietnamese had already agreed to in the first place, while US actually gave up some concessions.
WTF??
It was all because of South Vietnamese leader Nguyen Van Thieu who reminds me a lot of Zelensky. The clown leaked a modified agreement with a bunch of clauses that no one would agree to, added. And the North Vietnamese leaked their own version with bunch of clauses removed and they walked away from the table.
The Nixon bombed them into submission, kek, and brought them back to the table and signed what they wanted.
I am sure there are more redpill intricacies in this affair, but just looking at it quickly, I would think this should have been the line of attack against Nixon and his legacy more than Watergate. But I guess the Dems couldnt afford to throw any spotlight on it and end up exposing their own role with the South Vietnamese puppets.
I do not recall the Hanoi bombings as part of history of ending Vietnam war and Kissinger negotiations.
As Vietnam was escalated by LBJ and Nixon had to end it, Vietnam was the establishment’s war and Democrats— Dems controlled the House & Senate, so impeachment over Vietnam might not have been a strong point.
In 1973, Dem-controlled House barely failed to pass a resolution to explore a federal union with other North Atlantic countries, the vote failed by 13 votes. discussed p. 11449 (p. 3 in pdf ) Congressional Record https://www.congress.gov/93/crecb/1973/04/09/GPO-CRECB-1973-pt9-5-2.pdf
and discussed in Gerald R. Ford papers https://www.fordlibrarymuseum.gov/sites/default/files/pdf_documents/library/document/0054/4535871.pdf
In the bigger picture I think 1971-1973 marks a mini transition in the "World Order", which can broadly be seen as transitioning from Rothschild control to Rockefeller control.
Important events during this period:
End of Vietnam war (shifting from war based shenanigans to primarily financial shenanigans)
Roe vs Wade (abortions legal so immigration can be ramped up)
End of gold standard
Right after this, the Church committee / Rockefeller commission "exposed" CIA and essentially transferred control from the mossad handlers to the power sharing between Dems and RINOs via Senate intel committee, and a few years later via NED / IRI / NDI
What I am getting at is that, either wittingly or unwittingly, there was a transition away from Rothschilds and towards Rockefellers (later hijacked by Soros) that both Nixon and Reagan facilitated. Maybe it was not meant to be nefarious to begin with, but enter Clintons and Soros, and things went to shit.
Worth noting. AFAIK,
Nixon did not actually END the gold standard. He put it on PAUSE. Which I guess means that it could be reactivated, as opposed to having to be newly recreated.
I didn't know this. But apparently, he didn't end it, he 'suspended' it.
a lot of bad stuff happened in ‘73, Israel/Egyp/Syria war and 1st oil crisis, interesting, Rothschild —> Rockefeller power transition
Duh I forgot the Oil crisis! Very much part of the transition from Gold back financial system to petrodollar.

C. H. Spurgeon's Evening Reading (May 7th)
"Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk." — John 5:8
Like many others, the impotent man had been waiting for a wonder to be wrought, and a sign to be given. Wearily did he watch the pool, but no angel came, or came not for him; yet, thinking it to be his only chance, he waited still, and knew not that there was One near him whose word could heal him in a moment. Many are in the same plight: they are waiting for some singular emotion, remarkable impression, or celestial vision; they wait in vain and watch for nought. Even supposing that, in a few cases, remarkable signs are seen, yet these are rare, and no man has a right to look for them in his own case; no man especially who feels his impotency to avail himself of the moving of the water even if it came. It is a very sad reflection that tens of thousands are now waiting in the use of means, and ordinances, and vows, and resolutions, and have so waited time out of mind, in vain, utterly in vain. Meanwhile these poor souls forget the present Saviour, who bids them look unto Him and be saved. He could heal them at once, but they prefer to wait for an angel and a wonder. To trust Him is the sure way to every blessing, and He is worthy of the most implicit confidence; but unbelief makes them prefer the cold porches of Bethesda to the warm bosom of His love. O that the Lord may turn His eye upon the multitudes who are in this case tonight; may He forgive the slights which they put upon His divine power, and call them by that sweet constraining voice, to rise from the bed of despair, and in the energy of faith take up their bed and walk. O Lord, hear our prayer for all such at this calm hour of sunset, and ere the day breaketh may they look and live.
Courteous reader, is there anything in this portion for you?
Early 2000s, if you said "I work in the Bay Area", people would go "Wow, impressive!"
Now if you said that, people usually respond with "Oh, how are you coping. Must be tough. Sad to hear"
"Now if you said that, people usually respond with"

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Lord, give us the strength, joy, humility and patience to always love. And allow us your justice so that such love sown is rewarded with love duly harvested at its right time. 🙏 Amen.
Worth contemplating in these days of information war.
