There's a GIANT secret being kept from humanity, at what seems like, all costs.
Definitely something to ponder in the shower...
a GIANT ? More likely many Giant & innumerable smaller ones. But once rulers/leaders start lying they can never stop out of fear of retribution and loss of power. And for most it's easy to forget how to make a pencil , so complexity breeds collapse and loss of information , creating and incentive to hide that which gives "Leaders" an advantage.

Till you just pointed it out, I’d have never guessed there was an entire group of people in the pencil industry called “leaders”. Kinda assumed it was done by machines. I bet they’re unionized.

That's all well and good, but doesn't explain the coordinated effort for the past 200 years to hide, obscure and lie about humanity's past.
Explain above my pay grade. But if there were /are repeated cataclysms affecting this little rock , and you knew it. Would you tell everyone or just try to get them to dig you a little hiddy hole to ride it out in ?

In the alternative might you try to get some people and stored information away....say to Mars to protect it and prevent going all the way back to the stone age ?

I mean, for me anyway, terrestrial concerns, for lack of better term, existentially speaking, is really not much more than a novel curiousity. When you realize your true self, your eternal self, all these concerns get burnt up in an instant... unless of course, you're stuck believing you are only your body and mind...
