It says the article is today May 12th. We are past "April"?
GENEVA, May 12 (Reuters) - The United States and China have agreed to temporarily slash reciprocal tariffs in a deal that surpassed expectations as the world's two biggest economies seek to end a damaging trade war that has stoked fears of recession and roiled financial markets.

Not sure how many have caught some of the "on the ground" videos out there of China manufacturing sector...but it's pretty bad right now.
Orders that would have carried them through the end of the year, vanished/cancelled overnight. Now you hear owners saying they're totally screwed, selling their equipment for pennies on the dollar.
Industrial towns usually booming with hustle and bustle are now ghost towns. Even little convenience stores are shuttered because zero customers compared to a short while ago with constant traffic.
I feel bad for those people... and then I remember watching countless USA manufacturers close up because of their IP theft and CCP sponsored/subsidized low cost knock offs that ruined countless markets.

Agreed. Go "contribute" to your own damn countries if they're so great.
Winning!

The tariffs were implemented in April.
“Imposed in april”, not “will cut in april”. Because that’s when the 145% tariff started.
I think this confirms the deal was in the works WAY before lunchtime yesterday...
Poor syntax by the writer I think

I guess the sky isn’t falling.
April is come and gone?
Xi and the commies CANNOT say no to this. Their fragile manufacturing based economy is collapsing. In two months, Trump owns them.

Then there's those other ghost towns
