I wouldn't mind Amish life minus animal abuse, but i'm soon 67 and no longer able to survive the rugged lifestyle. By the way poor countries also mistreat animals. Camp follower dogs often get served at supper even after hanging around for years.
I wasn't implying the Amish were poor, I was just showing how animal abuse if.s common. Pets are a luxury.
I moved my wife and myself away from our house near her family cause they ate a female dog for the sin of being in heat. Just the young men ate her. My wife's son, cousins and friends. The son lost out because when we moved I no longer paid the bills and bought all the food.
I'm in no way condoning Amish animal abuse, but at the same time if my cat needed a 10,000 operation, well it had a good life up until. My sister a libtard cat lady who lived in unbelievable filth spent a fortune in vet bills on credit and financed funerals for them too.
When I was 10 I had a too soon to be weaned kitten and my POS wife bearing drunk of a stepfather killed it and made me bury it. I might cry but I can bury the cat.

Side note: This is why I have pet insurance. Once an economic joke, pet insurance has come a long way, and gives me the luxury of that 10,000 operation for 10%, which I can finance with Care Credit at no interest for 6 months.
I have watched the Vets' shoulders drop with relief when I interrupt their explanation of options and tell them to do what they think best; the animal is fully insured. I've also spent too many hours in a late-night waiting room with owners putting down animals for financial reasons. It's heartbreaking to hear.
What I mean by luxury is pet health insurance, pet funeral insurance...
!8 years ago I had insurance for me that was excellent and cost what pet insurance does today.
My last dog was 20 years ago, I bought her rabies shot and 3 in 1 shots at a feed store 4 bucks each and administered myself. I fed that dog high quality dog food and cut her nails myself. Would I pay 1,000 bucks for a funneral? Nope, would I spend 1/5th of my lifes savings for an operation? nope

I've had insurance pay out with no upper limit.
