This a welcome change. Go get them Dan! I do agree with some of the comments to fire the team prior to the on Dan put in, but we will see what happens. Does dereliction of duty come to mind??
We'll see what the new team comes up with. To the extent that it confirms the first team, the first team is okay. To the extent that the second team follows up on leads the first team did not, and produces relevant information, the first team is in trouble. I think demotion is more likely than firing, depending on the outcome. If the second team solves the case, the first team loses face. But milking a case for 4 years is pretty bad. What have they been doing?
You are correct. I wouldn't mind if they were fired, but when firing any government employee we have to consider their age and their length of service. If they earned their pension, they will receive it even if in jail.
