There are some people here, including some mods, who seem to think the holodomor might have actually been an attack on the bolsheviks by the native Russians. It has clearly been a strong tool in the anticommunist narrative for anyone who thinks that “eating” is neat.
Dunno how likely that is, but it’s an interesting possibility, at the least.
