My favorite misuse of statistics is when they claim some huge percent change in something that has an EXTREMELY small likelihood of happening. They'll take something like chance of cancer from something at 0.00006 percent, and then claim a 50% increase when it goes up to 0.00009 percent.

The whole x times more likely is a scam! They use x times more likely because it sounds more dramatic!
