Power is often going to be knocked off during these storms. The combination of humidity, no AC and heat building up in a home that is boarded up quickly becomes a sauna and death trap for any pet inside.

I was attacked by a mean pit bull once inspecting houses. Lucky for me he hit the end of his chain in the middle of his lunge. I didn't even have time to pull my gun.
I am a dog person,that's why I will not have one living in the city. We let our dogs run free when I was growing up as did everyone else. Dogs are not meant to live in houses and small yards.

Tornadic activity is more common in the interior counties of Florida which is why most ranchers will not chain up dogs for this very reason.
