If you can hold it, the government can send men with guns to take it from you (as demonstrated by EO 6102). Bitcoin's intangibility is a feature, not a bug.
Isn’t there a way to buy it without going through some exchange where nobody knows how much you have and your transactions can be made anonymously?
I had $100 worth in my cart and didn’t click buy because I needed to ask about the security of the wallet. It was $3 dollars and change each at that time. Went to 80something the next day.

Bitcoin is a transparent blockchain, all wallet addresses that have been used at least once are permanently lookup-able with up to date balances. The best you will be able to do is avoiding KYC exchanges which will correlate a name with your wallet.
Plenty of P2P options to buy Bitcoin, as well as Bitcoin ATMs that will often have a non-KYC tier. Avoid keeping your coin on a CEX, for obvious reasons.
$5 to anyone that can tell me who Satoshi is.
If you or I don't even know the true orgins of this digital coin, why in the hell would I trust it? (Bitcoin has an icon of gold coin but is really just a digital node).
Bitcoin , in my opinion is the bait to get us into digital currency & coral us into a digital prison.
This is a "don't throw the baby out with the bathwater" situation. I am heavily, heavily, anti-Bitcoin, but it does not mean that all cryptos are compromised or bad.
The tech itself isnt inherently evil; say, for example it was linked to a physical comodity that can be audited, gold for example, this would be the beautiful marriage of the efficiency of digital currency, plus the physical parameters that prevent the federal government from overspending.
However, bitcoin itself has a very murky past, and under the current circumstances, I don't really have much faith or trust in it, and I am still over the opinion that it is the carrot by which they will make the masses adopt digital currency.
This is as clear as day when you look at the suppression of golden silver but bitcoin (which has no inherent value except it consumes lots of energy) is allowed to explode.
Why bitcoin? Other crypto currencies offer better security and anonymity. Why not create a new crypto that has a set limit like BTC and allow an orderly transition of the masses into their electric surveillance slavery?
No, bitcoiners want the government to endorse their coin because that will make them filthy rich. It's not going to happen because 99.8% of Americans aren't interested, and they vote.
Bitcoin wealth isn't increasing, it's just transferring and consolidating what was put into it.
If you cant hold it, it isn't yours.

So if they put your head in a vice, you won't give up your wallet?
Bitcoin's intangibility just means you are susceptible to a wrench attack.
Odd what a shovel and a large stone slab can hide.
How did they get back the Mt Gox BTC that was stolen?

Crypto is the biggest scam ever, it’s just as bad as stock market and in someways it’s even worse.

I've been saying it for years.
The only way to control spending is an ironclad Balanced Budget amendment with teeth.
Everything else is just kabuki.
