I remember, also, I do not recommend watching rocky horror picture show at home. Not fun at all when actually paying attention, I just liked sneaking into theaters and throwing toast and rice at strangers in the 80's.
Too far back for me. My earliest childhood was as a 2-year-old sitting on my window bench on the 2nd floor of our house, watching the fire trucks furiously trying to pump water out of the town square during Hurricane Agnes (in Maryland). It took us days to get out since the Potomac River ran through our town and the flood waters stayed high. That's probably why I have such an early memory that has stayed with me for over 50 years so far.
Even the Beach Boys covered this song ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9D9LxjV3uWI ). The original songwriter even commented in the You Tube comments. I guarantee Gen X remembers this song being played over and over on the radio (and in skating rinks) during the Iran hostage crisis.
It's a good reminder for the Millennials and Gen Z pedes that the Iran issue has been around for decades now.
I'm not commenting on whether bombing the nuclear sites was wrong or right - just giving some historical perspective.
I wonder if any bands will cover the song this time around?
BTW - be careful listening. This will become a serious "ear worm".
Here's most of Vince's comment, I left off all the thankyous and links at the end. Comment was five years ago, so I'm sure the President he's talking about is Trump.

MY name is Vince Vance. Myself and my band, Vince Vance and the Valiants wrote these lyrics and recorded "Bomb Iran" and released it June 4, 1980 on my Valiant Records label, and Lady DJ Dana Steele first broke it on KRBE in Houston, TX. I can never thank her enough. Interestingly enough, Dana is now ironically, a Democrat
Immediately, our hit song went to Number One —with almost ALL stations across the USA playing it multiple times each hour. "Bomb Iran" went on to become the #1 most played novelty song in 1980 and 1981. And, became the Number One most played propaganda song ALL-TIMES. However, Billboard would never rate it above 101 calling it "Bubbling Under." Also, VH-1 called me about 10 years ago, or so, to say they were doing a retrospective of 1980/81 and were going to highlight "Bomb Iran," the same song we wrote and recorded. We were so excited! STOP... Afraid of being politically incorrect and trying to re-write reality, they didn't use it in their incomplete compilation. What have we become that we can't tell the truth —as it may offend someone? So, sadly, besides the 52 hostages of which most were held for 444 days, we, too, the American People, are still being held hostage today by our guilt and these selfsame Islamic terrorists, now, for over 40 years.
Fortunately, we have a hero in the White House who is unafraid of the slings arrows of Washington and beyond.
Never realized the Beach Boys actually covered it, totally cool! 😎
Now imagine all of those bombs with precision guidance. You should have seen the General’s face when I told him that he could write his name on the enemy’s runway. Big grin!

By Vince Vance and the Valiants. 😆
How about late 60’s early 70’s. That’s when I learned to shoot the duck.

Not quite sure why this YT vid doesn't embed properly - maybe too many people streaming it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZwDL3-Ze4w
