Just a note: be careful of insulin; it's addictive. You'll be much better off in the long run going with a no-carb diet. Switching is not easy, but after the switch your body will reward you with many improvements that will make it easy to continue.
Informative post! Well referenced because of experience.
Alt tips for you or to add. A half a shot glass once a day of apple vinegar (with mother) will balance your diabetes out after about a month long regimen. Helps other ailments too and it's completely harmless.
Ive witnessed two close family members in their early 50s knock their diabetes with this one cool trick 😎
One 80% recovery with positive weight loss. The other nearly the same, but she still needs an occasional lantus prick when eating or drinking risky stuff.
Metformin gave my mom leaky gut.
Intestinal fluid seeping into her bladder was the main problem. UTI's almost did her in.
She woke up one morning and said she heard a voice say, "do not take this anymore".
She stopped, called Dr and told him she was done with it.
It had ruined her life. She got better almost immediately.
She was 75 and has never had another UTI and she'll be 90 in 3 months.
I found out that she was put on it after 2 glucose readings of 110 and 115 via urinalysis.
In the 80s we shot for "under 120" blood sugar.
Diabetis is pert'neer a hoax now. Unless your pancreas isn't functioning.
I worked in the life insurance industry most of my career and watched them move the needle on "acceptable" readings - the biggies are BP and Cholesterol and pre-DM is making the strong showing, but I would have to say SSRIs are probably ahead of it for now (have you noticed the big push for 'mental health' recently?). But it gets back to the same old same old: pills, pills, pills - the more expensive, the better.
I didn’t have time to read this entire post but what I have read is very very helpful. I appreciate the time and effort this took. I will be working my way thru the entirety of this post. Thank you.
