Disinformation operations will mix truth and lies (or facts and narrative) intentionally. Sometimes the truth will be the outer casing, the bait for the target to learn to accept and then trust the operation (the person, the group), and the false content or lies, or desired narrative, will come later, or be smuggled in over time.
The bait has various purposes: to inspire trust, to insert the idea that the source is reliable, or telling the truth all the way; to gradually direct the target towards a type of thinking that serves the operations goals, etc.
There is a great BBC radio program that illustrates this dynamic, albeit in reverse. It's called "the unbelievable truth", and panelists have to give a 5 minute lecture that is completely false, but to also try to smuggle through 5 actual 'truths' (true facts), in the midst of the entire content of lies.
Disinfo operations will do often the opposite, attempting to smuggle in a number of lies while presenting a lot of truths or facts.
There's a covert reason why Jones was always so much bluster and bravado and over-the-top with everything. Superficially, it was "because I'm a showman, a performer" which Jones admitted in court in his divorce proceeding. But covertly, it was to associate the things he was saying - the truths - with over-the-top craziness and extreme out-there-ness, so that many people connected all those 'conspiracy theories - the fake and the real ones both - with crazy, tinfoil hat thinking and behavior.
So, while saying "George Soros is evil!!! Rant! Rant! Rant!" Jones is also directing a much larger segment of the population AWAY from the idea that Soros being evil is actually a real thing.
Personally, I think that Alex Jones has been flipped. There is no way he could have continued and continue to operate now unless it was 'allowed' by the White Hats for a specific purpose or that in fact, what was once a controlled opposition operation has been flipped and re-directed towards ends that serve the White Hat agenda.
