It's "our Republic" ....no democracy. And if our Republic is no longer capable of providing the beacon of the rule of law to the world.....it does not deserve to survive
I see your point. I get SO tired of retards on the left AND right spouting "OuR dEmOcRaCy!!!!!"...when so FEW of them have actually been taught what a f*cking Constitutional Republic is. I was taught that back in the day in what was called "social studies" and "American civics" classes in my K-12 years...but there are literally millions of younger generation members who have ZERO idea what that means. And that absolutely needs to be fixed going forward, if our Constitutional Republic is to survive.
Starting in the 20th century after World War II, many countries used the term "democratic republic" in their official names—most of which were Marxist–Leninist, or socialist, one-party states[10]—that did not allow political opposition, free press or other democratic norms and institutions. These include states no longer in existence or who have changed their governmental systems and official names (almost all Marxist–Leninist): the German Democratic Republic (East Germany), the Democratic Kampuchea, the Somali Democratic Republic,[11] the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam), the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen (South Yemen), the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan, and the People's Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.[12]The Republic of India declares itself a "Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic Republic " in the Preamble to its Constitution.

According to Grok:
The United States has a federal constitutional republic with a presidential system.
Federal: Power is divided between a central government and individual states, each with its own authority.
Constitutional: The government operates under the U.S. Constitution, which outlines the structure, powers, and limits of government.
Republic: Representatives are elected by citizens to make laws and govern.
Presidential System: The president, as head of the executive branch, is elected separately from the legislative branch (Congress), ensuring a separation of powers among the executive, legislative, and judicial branches.
This system emphasizes checks and balances to prevent any one branch from dominating.

I always point out that when Democrats refer to "Democracy", they are referring to "rule by Democrats" and nothing else.
