Seems to me that its simply and frankly insane for Congressmen and women (of either house) to be able to receive any form of monies or in-kind contributions from corporations and lobbyists.
It should not be legal. My, how reformation needs to happen in this area. The entire concept that a congressman or woman gets a salary should premise them being unable to be 'lobbied' in any material way whatsoever.
They stopped fearing that a long, long time ago. It was when the People stopped being the real owners and the servants usurped their position.
Don't let the method (tar and feathers vs. censure, prison, discredit) create an illusion to the fact: when servants supplant their masters, it is too often because the real owners have forgotten or vacated their proper position.
