My personal MD (internist) was with a group of doctors that treated people in the office as primary care doctors. They were affiliated with a local hospital. Last year the hospital canned the affiliation, and all the doctors had to set up at a new office up the road, totally unaffiliated with the hospital. My doctor, also a personal friend over many years, said that the hospital wants the patients to go to the hospital to be seen for treatments, etc., as they can make more money that way. My doctor was pretty upset about what they did. He decided to retire.

These "doctors" arent even intelligent people. The smart ones are surgeons, brains, hearts, rotator cuffs etc. Those are the skilled people.
