The easiest way to end gerrymandering is to increase the size of the House. We've been frozen at 435 critters for a century now. The census was supposed to be used to add members with respect to population, not draw new boundaries.
Yes this technically increases government, but it also gives us a more accurate sample of the population (to be specific, citizens) and shrinks the size of these districts.
Of course, this isn't exactly ideal to do right now with the pay package these faggots get, but that can always be negotiated.
It'd still need to be increased. I the House was capped at 435 in 1929. The country has added a lot of genuine citizens since then :-).
I swear the House being capped was part of the early 20th century push to make this country communist. Each representative's district represents 750K people right now ... that's a LOT of opinions to be represented by a single person. However, it's a hell of a lot easier to buy ~ 220 Reps as well as maintain the two party stranglehold with a relatively low number of House members ... that's the main reason those scumbags capped it.
