That is not an English flag it is a British flag.
English don't feel the same good way about being part of Britain as American States feel about being part of the USA. It was the same feeling that drove the Brexit push to not be part of the EU. We don't like belonging to larger Unions.
Well said. It often feels like the other countries of the UK have a right to an Identity, but not the English, we just get called Brits.
