The study, published in Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism, analyzed data from nearly 16,000 adults aged 19 and older using the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHAMES III).
Researchers examined how much animal and plant protein people typically consume and whether those patterns were associated with their risk of dying from heart disease, cancer or any cause.
They found no increased risk of death associated with higher intake of animal protein. In fact, the data showed a modest but significant reduction in cancer-related mortality among those who ate more animal protein.
. . . "When both observational data like this and clinical research are considered, it's clear both animal and plant protein foods promote health and longevity," says lead researcher Yanni Papanikolaou, MPH, president, Nutritional Strategies.
This research was funded by the National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA), a contractor to the Beef Checkoff. NCBA was not involved in the study design, data collection and analysis or publication of the findings.
The Human has canine Teeth to eat Meat. The idea ( the first absurd study) that man should Not eat Meat was to make MEN, Weak.
Well our eyes are in front for depth perception to hunt... honestly I fluctuate myself, some days I can't get enough salad, some days I live on rib-eyes. Last night I pigged out on on trout, we killed it fishing at the river.
Get some pork on your fork.
so if I understand this correctly, eating meat will actually save lives? This I already knew 😉
We totally would have not been here if our ancestors didn't eat meat. Make the food supply bad, fill with soy and micro carcinogens, make men more feminine, weaken us. Makes sense when you put it all together. Someone said the city water supply is tainted. That the cities can't filter out hormones in the water. Think of all the women on birth control and now hormone replacement therapy for menopause symptoms. Yikes.
I stopped eating meat sometime in 1975. At that time it was really unusual unlike now and when my friends found out they told me I would die of malnutrition etc. That's fifty years ago now and I'm still here. I'm averagely healthy just like anyone else my age.
I stick to a strict regiment of eating everything.
Go vegan and go nuts! Actually nuts are vegan so go vegan and go bat crap crazy.
Carnivores eat proteins and fats.
Herbivores feed plants to the microbes in their big-ass digestive system which in turn provide them with proteins and fats.
Such wow!
Ooh, ooh, now do raw meat!!
Or as it is more happily known "steak tartare". Still, I'd want to know that cow personally.
I've seen a few bits on eating raw/uncooked meats and have thought about trying it.
Although the recent thoughts I had of it, I wouldn't do it with USDA compliant meat factories. I'd try it with beef from that Amish guy fighting the USDA, but it's too pricey for me, so I digress...
Oh, so but supposedly you're cooking out the most beneficial nutrients, and the not so beneficial stuff your gut can do what it's designed to. Makes sense, cook all your food to deplete nutritional value, add scare tactics to ensure compliancy.
Go shoot a deer, raw heart is delicious... when there isn't a bullet in it.
