WHY did Britain create the modern Zionist secular state of Israel?
Remember that the modern Israeli nation state is SECULAR and has nothing to do anymore with the original tribes. It does not even claim to be more than a secular state, far as I know, despite some Christian interpretations of this secular political state, to interpret their own view of the "end times."

It is a self-proclaimed Jewish state. The law ensuring "right of return" (automatic citizenship for any Jew who chooses to move to Israel) should be proof enough, but there are many more.

Funny how the Bible predicted the world turning against Israel when Israel didn't even exist anymore. There was not a nation of Israel for 2600 years until 1948. THe OT prophets wrote down what God inspired them to write even though they did not understand what they were writing! Can you imagine what Zachariah must have been thinking as he was writing his book? Israel was taken out of their land a hundred years earlier and Jerusalem was nothing but a burnt up pile of rubble and ashes! Being a prophet, he knew God would restore Israel again in the future but I'll bet he was disappointed by what he was inspired to write in chapters 12-14.

He couldn’t have had a clue about what he was writing. There was no Israel at that time. His prophecy of the whole world coming against Israel could not have made sense to him. The prophecy of 2/3rds of Israel being wiped out in the “day of the Lord” probably shook him up and as with many other of the prophets wrote, there is no way they could understand what they were writing.
