I listened to 1/2 of this. Very interesting, but way over my ability to make sense of it.
The more I learn, the heavier it feels. Another doomsday threat looms, another corrupt scheme woven into the system, grinding us down.
It’s exhausting to see this unfold, knowing the odds are stacked against us.Yet, I hold onto a sliver of hope that those who can understand and act are listening.
We may be hurtling toward a reckoning—perhaps unavoidable—but I refuse to believe escape is impossible. Awareness is the first step; action must follow.
Last year, the county raised the value of my home by $49K without explanation. This did occur after our community voted down property tax increases 8 straight times.
Blackrock buying entire developments to support a "price point" for property taxes does the same thing. Trump,is aware of these scams which are pricing entry level homes way too far out of most peoples reach. It's why we're starting to see discussions about ending property taxes nationwide
I bet that turns out just like the "no tax on overtime." By the time the faggots in congress are done with it, it'll save you enough to buy a ham sandwich.
Our entire town went up between 70 and 80 percent. My taxes for 2025 went up $1200 more per year because of improvements on the HS and elementary school. When asked why the district didn’t budget for improvements, they said it would not be fair to the taxpayers that moved out of the district. Really? I bet it does have to do with bonds. It makes me sick. I am paying just short of $6000 per year. Who knows what it will be next year. I won’t find out until early December.
This is the state and local government corruption angle. Property taxes fund the schools which have a never ending appetite for money. Education should be funded by those with children to educate. . .not the entire population. Even those who home school, which excels for the students, are taxed as well as the Seniors on fixed incomes. Locally we have a failed real estate development which the board more than dabbled in, a toxic landfill issue requiring remediation and a Cherry of a brand new school vacating two older facilities to go along with a 16.0% increase on top of past increases.
The fix is to limit the ability of Government to raise property taxes. In reality, there should be no property tax, but that's another discussion.
In the early 70's California passed Prop 13 which limited the States ability to endlessly raise property tax. Property tax for any unit was based on the sale price of the unit. It was fixed at 1% of the sale price. The tax amount collected on the unit could go up 1.1% per year. This is huge for the elderly on fixed incomes. They could no longer be taxed out of their homes which had been happening.
Yeah, no shit. I arbitrarily got a 15k valuation increase not even a year after I bought my house. Some fuck just added exactly 15k to the number and hit send, sight unseen.

This is downright frightening. Happened to me last week. Appraisal company sent me a letter saying my value went up 80%.
80%? How can the value of property go up 80%.
If you had land in Western Nevada, and the entire state of Calf. fell into the ocean, okay, maybe, but otherwise that is hard to justify.

It's ridiculous they can just arbitrarily and endlessly keep increasing how much of our money they can take.

...ouch...
