It is very clear, "forgive me my trespasses as I forgive others who trespass against me". Clear as day, isn't it? Not easy, but necessary. This was a beautiful service until it got political. I was offended by that. I really enjoy this space, it is a free space for me to share my faith and encourage others with Faith. I will speak out against evil, but I have great respect for Charlie and his wife, and I feel that the politics should have been left out. I may have see myself to the door on this one. To talk of hate after Ericka so much in the embrace of Christs love, spoke her truth, is kind of the last straw for me. May God bless and keep all of you faithful, remember that God will love you to the grave and beyond. I pray that the truth will be revealed, and soon, because these hatreds are creating a fog, and the only place to get away from it is with Jesus Christ. Perhaps I can find another site for fellowship. Too old for this.
I truly feel your words. All of them. The combativeness here has increased exponentially while critical thinking has plummeted.
Please continue sharing your faith, encouraging others, and speaking against evil. You are not alone! Only God knows of the impact of our words here, but He brought us here for His purpose! I stand with you, lovemyGod!🙏
Please don't leave! There are many fellow Christians here who feel as you do! It's too bad the people who organized this memorial gathering didn't specify who would speak, and not include Trump as a speaker (attend yes, speak, no).
Thank You. It is good to know other Christians feel the same way. I do not know the truth anymore when it comes to men's words, I only know the truth of scripture. oh, I am not unwordly, not at all, I had a pastor once tell me, when I wanted to just isolate and be in prayer, and leave all of this behind, he told me that was fine for awhile, but that Christ has told us that he would be out there in the world, among the people, among many kinds of people, the poor, the rich, the pious and the struggling sinner. I do what I can with that. But I was younger when I heard those words. Now I just want to cloister again. I use the internet to be in the world now, and it was wonderful to see the faithful gathered together in mourning and tribute for a young man who spoke bravely and fairly, and encouraged respectful debate of different opinions. He was able to do that because he was a Christian, God gave him strength and purpose. I understand that people started leaving when it turned into a political rally. To quote my gran, "is there nothing sacred anymore?". Jesus loved, he came to preach the love of God, that salvation and eternal glory is accesible to EVERYONE who confesses him as savior. Ericka spoke that, I believe it too. I just do not get it, that for once, he chose not to show a humble and comforting side to the mourners.
