Back in my tech days, Dell sold us servers that had a board that used a chip that could use the network to "phone home". Of course, the board was made in China.
We all wondered if those chips were in the military planes, etc.

It doesn't actually matter, because there's a combination of satisfaction at the exposure and disgust at what humans are willing to do to one another. Which then begs the question: How many of the most evil of the bad actors are even actually ensouled humans?
