The US has been at or below replacement every single year since 1970 (over half a century). Ukraine's graph would look closer to the US's graph if not for the addition of the immigration numbers (and their larger imported birth rate). That importation of aliens (legal and illegal) has been supporting the illusion of "overpopulation" for a very long time. It's a complete contrivance. The US and America are pretty much the same if you take out immigration.
Legal abortion was a contributing factor, but population rates had been going down steadily for about 50 years before that, starting with Rockefeller and Sanger (and others, but they were the most prominent/visible). Honestly, abortion was not a good method of population control. That was well known at the time. You can find all sorts of legitimate studies on that from the 20s-50s. That's how you can find all sorts of quotes from Sanger who was "against abortion." She was "against' it because it wasn't effective enough. People never look at the important context when they quote her about that, but it is important to understand that it WASN'T the best path to wide spread population reduction. Instead, abortion was designed to be targeted population control. They designed the abortion system with targeted propaganda systems, penal systems, schools, food, medicine, etc.. Abortion affects blacks:whites about 5:1 and about 2.5:1 latino:white). Population growth on the other hand, is reduced across the board.
The biggest contributor is, believe it or not, probably either microplastics or propaganda, or possibly vaccines. It's really hard to say because there's no good studies on any of those. We only know that it happens quite a bit, not how much.
Indeed and the problem is only projected to get worse.
The rates of family formation and marriage rates are also in the toilet. In fact they are so low it’s actually lowering the Divorce rate. Because there are so few getting married
