I'm not particularly familiar with this piece, but I just listened to some other recordings and the final chords in all other records are an A chord, whereas in this recording it's a B flat, or A sharp.
So this recording is a semitone above the original score and all other recordings that I could find with a brief search.
Does anyone know where this particular recording/rendition is from?
I don't have the time right now to search, but Wikipedia (blergh, I know) has a list of movies that use this piece of music. I wouldn't be surprised to find that one of those movies uses a modified score or recording that raised the whole piece a semitone.
We saw this just recently with a modified score here.
Perhaps some other musically minded people might be able to dig this one out? Sorry, just a really busy day, just about to start percussion teaching and won't be done for 6 hours or so.
I knew a girl whose dad worked at the Bolshoi, somebody quite senior there. We were never able to get tickets though. Missed opportunity.
"Bolshe" in Russian means big I think, hence "Bolsheviks" majority party and their counterparts "Mensheviks" minority party. So the Bolshoi ballet is the big ballet and they pronounce it as bal-shoy.
Hopping over to Wiki, it seems Russia flits around with Old Style and New Style calenders. So the day in October for the Russian Revolution could be the 25th. Maybe we have two more weeks before something actually kicks off? IDK, just speculating.

Chances are that it was probably sped up a little bit to fit the video and when you speed up music, it raises the pitch a hair.

Thanks 007! What a shame you were never able to get tickets...🩰

I wonder if the time on the clock holds significance as well. Is that 9:58 or 9:59?
My first thought also because the camera paused on clock face...
On the clock.
