Collectivism doesn't work for a key reason: groups do not have a brain.
Groups have no agency. They are constructs based on a shared ideal between individuals. They are as ephemeral as any idea is, and the group dies as soon as that idea loses its support.
Collectivism is a cancerous concept, a mind virus that convinces people that individuals don't matter (or sometimes don't even exist). It convinces people that if you work hard enough for a group, the group will succeed to benefit all, rather than the reality of the group leader benefiting from the work they do.
Notice they never talk about Soviet Russia under Lenin and Stalin either... they only want to talk about one side of WW2 and try to label us them. They want WW3, they want to re-do history to get rid of American conservative nationals.
100%. I think the reasoning behind this is we stand in the way of a more globalist world. We like having more independent lives, they don't want us to have that.

But we "won" the war, so we have the power.
I LOVE America, in proud to be an American, but I can't sit here and pretend that dropping the bomb that destroyed an entire city in Japan isn't most likely the worst war crime in human history.
It was an indiscriminate killing, a genocide.
With that said, that show of force ended the war, and even prevented the cold war from going hot.
This is why you TAX your kids allowance (at current rates) and deduct a sizeable portion for rent.
Give them a weekly printout of the numbers if you can.

They are under the belief that, if the government takes care of everything, they never have to grow up. They can have a carefree life. They have been brainwashed to think that the government will provide money, food, housing. It will even continue to parent them by making more and more rules. They can stay carefree forever. No responsibility.

Schooling, but also, the economy is a tough spot for youth these days.
Entry level jobs are harsh, homes and rents are crazy high.
But socialism is no solution, it just makes things worse.
What we really need is to reform high-school, so upon graduation, a student is receiving $110k+ job offers on day one.
Basic schooling needs to focus on preparing the kids to, above all else, make a living!
In other words we need this country to invest in it's youth again.

Raise kids to exist in reality. Too many college kids are loving a free ride. Dangerous to their futures.
