Well I’ve been saying Election Day should be a federal holiday for years so I can agree with the Nazi on that. Personally I think both the Presidential and Mid-Terms should both warrant a Thursday and Friday Holiday on the first weekend of every other November, or the first weekend of every other July. Have Thursday be national research, recruit and last-minute registration day, then Friday from 10am-10pm ET (9am-9pm CT, 8am-8pm MT, 7am-7pm PT, 4am-4pm Hawaii) all starting and ending at the exact same time (maybe give Hawaii an extra hour or two), be VOTING DAY. Everyone who has registered in time can show up with their ID at some point during the Friday and vote. The coverage would be for 48 hours straight. The numbers would come out and we’d either party or mourn all weekend. It would be a huge event, like it should be.
