I think there were only 1600 RIFS and those will be rehired. I'm sure some have moved on. The shutdown needed to reach 60 days for a lot more RIFS to take effect.
I’m an excepted (safety essential, excepted from furlough) Gov employee that’s been working without pay this whole time and I was hoping the shutdown would at least last until after Thanksgiving.
Why go through all this trouble if fired employees have to be rehired? Let’s not half ass this endeavor. We need to hang in there a bit longer and take out the trash. Snappers need to take snap babies to a local church to get them fed. Sheet, even Carl’s Jr is offering EBT’s burger, fries, and soda for $1 during shutdown. They don’t belong on the Gov’s (taxpayer’s) teet.
