The dems that caved... I don't understand how suddenly they did that. They know their party will make their life h*ll. The other Dems won't support them, they'll probably be ridiculed and outcast from the other control freaks.
Were they blackmailed? did they come to this on their own? Did they suddenly change their minds, against the dem machine??? I'm cautiously optimistic...
There really aren't any 'moderate' democrats anymore, but the 'moderates' that voted for the CR I think realized that Schumer's gambit didn't work.
I think the deomcrats thought the media would successfully pin the blame for higher Obamacare premiums and losing SNAP benefits on Trump and the republicans. Combine that with their supposed big election wins last Tuesday and the republicans would fold. Also, flights starting getting canceled and airports had huge lines and delays, something that pisses everybody off.
I think Thune deserves some praise for holding the line during the shutdown. I didn't think he had it in him.
When I saw Dick Durbin was one that caved I couldn’t believe it. Then the commentary that others who had more to lose appealed to Dick because he was not running anymore - he may have woken up a bit and thus caved!! Only good thing he did!!
Q told us this is the end of the D party. "impossible to defend". I don't think anything matters at this point for them, they will cease to exist soon.
Schumer had to of called them into a back room and set it up. All of them are safe in their seats for years and this allows them an exit ramp to limit the damage that they were doing to themselves.
I don't know about all of them, but I think most of them did it for selfish reasons. Maybe they want to oust Schumer. Maybe they are the rare senator that didn't get much money from pharma.
There is a chance though that God could be working on/through Fetterman. Dude changed, and is still changing for the better.
