Not being able to take the oath, or honor the oath, to uphold and defend the Constitution. That eliminates Sharia supporting Islamic people, and Communists right off the bat. Those ideologies are 100% contrary to the Constitution. The Constitution is not optional.
Here is the answer for the immigration issue. Come here legally, and then be ready to EARN your citizenship and prove you truly intend to become an American. This would take care of those not eligible to run for office based upon loyalty, fealty, and ties from running in the first place.

I didn't forget that, and that is why I stated 14 years to earn citizenship. Exactly what most of the Founding Fathers set as the expectation, as well. not to mention, the first time an elected, appointed, volunteer, or employed government worker proves they are not honoring their oath, or have an allegiance other than to the Constitution, they would be removed from office and, if deported for perjury and treason.
I'm thinking that even Senators (6 year terms) need to be "Natural Born Citizens". 👈 Meaning the old Vattel definition where BOTH of your parents were citizens of your country.

That is not correct. It was the people that are supposed to screen the candidates that allowed it. That is a failure on the part of The People to hold government accountable to do their sworn duty.
