Just the brush and water. Rarely every day, the gums do not heal when you constantly rip them open. No floss or waterpik.
My teeth are very pale yellow (you'd think they were white) but the rest of my family's are too so idk if the color means anything.
Tartar tends to fall out naturally after about a week if I forget to brush. And yes I drink a typical American diet, just without nearly as much sugar/poisons. I.e. I rarely if every eat anything sweet but I do consume soda frequently. I drink a non-HFCS energy soda at work. Most of my diet is otherwise typical of a health conscious hard working dude: lots of protein, carbs, salads when convenient, I take a multi every couple days because I have a genetic folate deficiency. I do not drink coffee or tea or anything that RFK would strangle me over.
Not the one you asked but I'm in a similar boat: stopped using toothpaste in 2015 and haven't had a cavity since then. Before, I used to deal with cavities and tooth decay regularly to the point I thought it was just the way I was made genetically. Once I stopped using toothpaste, every dentist visit since then has been cavity-free! I don't tell my dentist I don't use toothpaste, and he doesn't ask, so I let him believe whatever.
I brush my teeth once-a-day in the morning using a regular toothbrush and only water. Twice per week, usually Mondays and Fridays, I wet the toothbrush and put some baking soda on it, and brush that on my teeth. That's it! Oh, once in a while, like maybe once every month or two, I rinse my mouth with peroxide. I'll gargle a mouthful, spit it out, and move on with my day.
Regarding flossing, I'll floss if I feel something is jammed in my teeth. Usually, something gets caught in my teeth, which annoys me to no end, so that will motivate me to get some floss to get rid of it.
That is outstanding. Help us pedes understand your methods that have been successful.
What do you use to clean them, if you don't mind my asking? And how often do you brush?
Do you floss or use a Waterpik?
How white or yellow are your teeth without using the abrasive tooth paste?
How do you keep from having tartar buildup?
Do you drink staining beverages like coffee, tea, cranberry juice, colas?
