I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve pointed this out - there is a treaty called the U.N. Global Compact for Migration, which we are a member of, which sets permanent, worldwide immigration quotas for every member nation.
Everyone thinks this is only happening in Western countries, but it’s happening everywhere. There are many threads here covering this.
If you search on it, you’ll probably see that Trump did not sign us into it in 2017, but President Autopen did sign us into it in 2021 upon entering office.
I keep throwing out that we should really be thinking about
What we can do to demand this to stop and be reversed
How we should monitor/assent to this crap on a permanent basis moving forward
It’s enforced at the executive level, so there is probably both a reason that Autopen signed it, and that Trump hasn’t revoked it yet (that I’m aware).
However, nobody tends to engage on the practical aspects of this issue. This should be a permanent discussion until we figure out what to do.
I, for one, am sick of having my homes completely displaced.
