The relevant section of the Supreme Court opinion in Trump v. Illinois (decided December 23, 2025) states:
"We conclude that the term “regular forces” in §12406(3) likely refers to the regular forces of the United States military. This interpretation means that to call the Guard into active federal service under §12406(3), the President must be “unable” with the regular military “to execute the laws of the United States.”
The US Marines are the presidents personal army. Send them in tell them to obey the presidents orders or else.
I don't know of a single Marine who would not follow Trump's, The Commander and Chief, orders.

Yes, in a roundabout way exactly this. The specific ruling wasn’t “authorizing Trump“ but it indirectly states he has to try using the military before he is to use the guard and this is fucking awesome.
Supreme Court doesn’t authorize anything the Constitution does. Their job is to shut down any attempt to usurp that authority.
