Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

Grateful Dead Guitarist Bob Weir Dead at 78. All the Greats are leaving planet Earth. RIP Bob Weir.
VA management positions at all locations should be reviewed. They should not be in position they know NOTHING about. A degree does NOT equal qualified. They should have to be able to do the jobs they manage and I would suspect 75% or more couldn’t.
I haven't been on here too much lately, what seems to be the vibe? TOTALLY WINNING or total bitching/doomers?
how should I go about learning about crypto? It seems to the layperson that crypto is just another form of control. since I joined in 2020 I haven't really examined this. I get that ending the fed is the best thing possible but how is crypto a sure bet? any suggestions are appreciated, have a blessed day!
oh and does the majority here trust Erika Kirk? I want sauce to make a judgement for myself
Honestly, if you really care to understand about crypto, I would suggest reading the Bitcoin Whitepaper. It is technical, but I think even laypeople can get the concepts - skip the deeper technical parts and focus on the overall idea.
The reason I suggest this is because it takes away all subjective opinions of people who push crypto or are against crypto and allow you to have a solid understanding of the principles.
There are lots of kinds of cryptos. Most of them are decentralized on a public block chain. The CBDC (central bank digital currencies) are cryptos that are NOT decentralized, not present on public block chain and are the. only cryptos that can be used as a viable form of control.
Trump already banned CBDCs.
The next thing I suggest is to read about Genius Act. This provides the regulatory framework to allow Stablecoins to be backed by assets, and be used to issue treasury bonds by passing all the banks (Which has always been a huge form of financial control on all of us).
Here is my thumb of rule:
Anyone who thinks of Cryptos as a way to get insanely rich is probably wrong in their thinking.
Anyone who thinks of Crypto as a way to free humanity is probably on the right track of thinking.
but what about a power grid attack? then we're cooked.
I like a few crypto coins that have utility use beyond just being used for transfer of money. you can do a search for “utility use of ethereum” and “utility use of Solana” for example. if you are well set financial wise. You could put a little bit into Doge meme coin and whether it ever goes up or down, it’s part of waking people up
I think crypto coins still follow the general direction of tech markets, so there could be ups and downs valuation wise.
Then there is Reggie Middleton, a wild card in the crypto field, founder of Veritaseum and a patent holder of some cryptotechnology, if his patents hold, I don’t think all cryptocurrencies would be in violation of his patents, but but some of them could be, and this could disrupt and rearrange valuations.
If there is a study group in your community for cryptocurrencies, could be good to join.
but can you tell me why it's better than physical money? that's what we had in the good ol' days, without the fed, and we were fine....
it is not better than physical money, I prefer gold, silver, copper, nickel coins, and currency could be backed by other assets like oil, natural gas, anything that is not a fiat or debt-based system.
Cryptocurrencies for payments of day-to-day shopping are for people who like paying electronically, I still like paper money & coins as it is a visual and physical thing that connects with me, how much am I spending, can I save, do I really need this….
cryptocurrencies could work out ok, as in a free market people could make up as many coins as they wanted & over time certain ones would be preferred, kind of a libertarian idea. But cental bank stable coins, not for me! .. tracking all expenditures… and in small family shops, cash is morefriendly feelin, loyalty, neighborly
but I’m a little bit more constitutionalist and like an official system, just not fiat-based & not London-serving
I’m with you. I don’t invest in what I don’t understand.
So what's your bet on what's in the Sunday Funnies tomorrow: A bit of Maduro, a bit of Minnesota?
Go home and eat a box vs go home in a box. Sick twisted funniest thing I’ve seen here.
When asked what I do for a living “I create ripples in the space time continuum. That alter future realities in the 3rd dimension.”
Any other “ripplers”‘out there?
A good Idea can have that effect. Good luck with your Ripple creations.
Thank you, same to you fren!
Who had 'resistance orchestra' on their bingo card? 🤡🌍🎺
Hang on, hang on, hang on….
So, an ICE agent arriving at a scene where a woman is blocking a roadway… gets out of his vehicle to confront the driver… and the first thing he grabs is his… phone?
This is starting to look staged, fake, and stupid.
First time I heard about it, I automatically assumed it was staged / Operation Mockingbird.
I think you are referring to this: https://x.com/AlphaNews/status/2009679932289626385
From the conversation its clear that these two have been harassing them for a long time so its perfectly natural for the cop to protect himself by taking his mobile phone, esp when the "wife" is doing the same as well.
Your answer seems the most logical.
I have also noticed this quality about the events going on in a scripted manner.
These things are not for us; they are for "the masses". Some large number of the population is mentally ill.
And some large number of that number is on prescription medication (s).
They were predisposed to be pawns and then harvested and used as disposable meat pop sickles.
I think each event is designed to "wake up" a portion of the deranged citizenry, or at least give them a chance. 4 - 6% will never look up from their programming. It doesn't sound like many, but in America that is millions.
There is a large portion of the population that would believe that Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse are real if they were on the evening news.
Everything you said are keen observations and I appreciate your wording. I’ve noticed the same things. I was just thinking today how many people are on prescription drugs. Most of them are BRAIN altering medications.
I also can’t get over the fact that young beautiful women, literally the majority, are injecting themselves with Botox like it’s some sample at the mall.
The filler injections are turning them into zombies..it is such a turnoff. Give me a woman who ages naturally. I'll grow old with her.
