I made the switch when M$ kept telling me my PC specs weren't good enough to install Win11. Not buying new hardware just so I can upgrade your crappy OS to a newer version of your crappy OS. I have no regrets.
My son in a Linux guy and I grew up with DOS, so working with a command prompt doesn’t scare me. The family living room computer is a Linux machine, so I’m getting experience. 👍
As of rn, there’s an essential part of my music studio workflow that has no Linux workaround. I’ve checked. But I’m ready to move when it happens.

Turn virtualization on in your bios.
Install Virtual box/Virtual machine whatever.
Install a linux distro in the virtual machine.
practice using linux. find alternative programs.
Get a solid state drive, swap it. Install linux. Get used to it. Move stuff over.
