That poll is nearly a year old and there were other polls at the time showing majority support of the Greenland people in regards to joining the U.S.
The reality is that it's very difficult to tell what public sentiment is in Greenland given the lack of current polling.
There's less than 60k people in the entire landmass. Given the mineral wealth, President Trump/U.S. can make these people extremely wealthy with very little investment. To say nothing of the jobs that will be created with proper investment as Denmark has done little with the territory beyond sending modest welfare checks.
The guiding principal of President Trump's foreign policy is mutually beneficial business and trade agreements. The desire for prosperity is the one thing that unites all cultures.
There's no reason for DJT to not take the same approach with Greenland. There will be bluster to agitate the uptight Europeans, but at the end of the day I strongly suspect that this will be a business agreement and Greenland will become a United States territory.
People are generally resistant to change, no matter what it is. Give them time to digest how their situation might improve under US vs their current status.
Itβs obvious that we will have Greenland. Turns out strategically we need it for protection against China and Russia. And particularly before they set up
shop there. This will be a huge change in my opinion for the US. Just mentally that who owns what can be altered. Things are not set in stone and can be restructured to benefit us and others. Itβs the belief that it canβt be different has to be challenged so we can have a better future.

It's so freaking cold up there though. In winter in Siberia, it can get to -60 degrees f. You really don't want to go out in that.
