Soooo, how much is recommended by this guy? And how much Vit D is the “…enough to kill a horse,” dose?
The Conversion:
mg to mcg: 20 mg = 20,000 mcg (since 1 mg = 1,000 mcg).
mcg to IU: 20,000 mcg × 40 IU/mcg = 800,000 IU.
Important Note on Dosing:
You'll often see vitamin D listed in mcg, not mg.
A common daily recommendation for adults is 600-800 IU (15-20 mcg).
A dose of 20 mcg (800 IU) is very standard, while 20 mg (800,000 IU) is an extremely high, potentially dangerous amount for daily intake, requiring medical supervision. Always check the units (mg vs. mcg) on your supplement bottle.
This book contains clinical studies that explain how Vitamin-D inhibits the growth of Cancer and prevents type-1 diabetes, Heart disease, and dozens of other ailments. It also addresses the epidemic Vitamin-D deficiency in the United States and explains why the Black American Community suffers from the highest disease and mortality rates due to this deficiency.
You can take a lot but this could kill you. Vitamin D isn’t water soluble like vitamin C. You can’t pee out the extra. I take about 8-10k iu a day which is way over the daily recommended dose, but up to 30k has been tested will no harmful effects. Sun is better but I don’t get enough of that in the winter. Do some reading before you kill your organs with too much of a good thing.
barely any is absorbed before we wash it off in a shower. Thousands of generations of humans evolved without washing on daily basis. It slowly absorbs on the surface of our skin and takes tens of hours to absorb. Now humans shower daily which further inhibits our chances of getting much. Not to mention if you don't live closer to the equator. Or if you have melanin and you moved to a northern region where humans shed their melanin to get more of the sun's D. AND not all sunshine is created equal. I'm not sure if a Canadian sunshine really is intense enough to do much.
Canadian here, this time of year the sun is only out from 8:30 to 5:00. If you have a regular desk job you probably won’t get any real exposure for a few months. It also feels a lot weaker than it does in the summer. But the biggest factor is the cold… people just generally avoid going outside.
Some places rarely even SEE the sun due to clouds, the 4 hours of sunlight per day (if there were no clouds) and SOME scandinavian places don't see the sun AT ALL for weeks!
"Just don't get sick!" is not a reasonable answer. Not everyone lives in Arizona where such advice would be reasonable.
Thats interesting, because my wife has been cleaning out our our refrigerator, which is where we keep our Vitamin D. So for the last 4 or 5 weeks, I've been popping 1000-5000 IU of Vitamin D every day. Now, alot of people close to us (extended family) have gotten very sick this year, but not anyone in my immediate family. Now, I also drink a concoction of fresh squeezed, organic lemon and Braggs apple cider vinegar, and I do believe that also has a lot of health benefits.
Whatever year it was when they stopped putting iodine in bread and salt is about the time our government went from being pro America to anti human life.

*not sure if that conversion is correct. ☝🏼
We have to dig.

Yes!
Just get 15 minutes of sunshine or more everyday.

All great things to do!
