Governor of Mississippi made a special deal with Nissan to build their plant in Canton, Ms. The deal was never revealed to the people and was sealed so nobody could look at it and see what the taxpayers had to give to get Nissan to build here. You would think that was illegal but when the politicians and lawyers all work for big corporate brother, all we can do is pay for everything!
NY allowed the sale of tens of thousands of acres of farm land to a CANADIAN solar farm company, paying millions more than the land was worth. Law says if the sale is higher than the assessed value, it's taxed on the sale price. Guess who got an exception and who's paying for it?

Every state does this. This is how they lure the big companies to setup shop and create jobs in the state.
Either make big corp. pay their fair share in taxes or stop taxing mom and pop shops. pretty simple.
Stop all property tax and income taxes. There is NO need for them.
