Let me start by saying my husband is a semi-awake normie who has been neck deep into the healthcare system for 20 years. He’s been on disability that entire time, and regularly takes 15 different medications to help anything from depression to high cholesterol, diabetes, pain management, you name it. In spite of seeing doctors at least once a month average, he has been suffering from extreme fatigue due to anemia from low red blood cell count for at least the last 6 months and we still have no answers. It took a month to see an oncologist, he waited 9 weeks for a colonoscopy (inconclusive since they couldn’t see everything… “do another in 3 months”) and now has to wait until April to get into a urologist due to a new discovery of alarming psa levels compared to his last from two years ago. He is slipping away before my eyes. Sleeps or is in bed close to 20-22 hours a day. He broke his leg in three places last April simply by bending over to stretch his aching back, so his bones are wonky as well. There is something clearly very wrong but the urgency from healthcare providers is zero. They (the people who call him to get him the appts) say there aren’t enough doctors. He has to wait his turn. He’s only 59.

I've told my PCP I dont give a rats ass how high my Cholesterol gets.
Im not a doctor nor a nurse, but sometimes you need to do your own research on what may be happening to your own body. Rule out the drugs he's on first. Look up everyone of their side effects.
But here are reasons why bones would easily broke. Having his leg bone break in three places just from stretching is not good.

Number one is osteoporosis. But there is also celiac disease (wheat gluten issues). which could cause depression. High cholestorl is generally characteristic of what you eat and so is late onset diabetes.
In the short term, he needs an entire overhaul of his diet. Go gluten free, eat less processed foods. A clean diet may help. No more junk foods, no alchol.
The medical establishment is what drove me from doubtful normie to cynical full-fledged Pepe anon status. There are certainly well-intentioned people in the system, but the system itself is driven by evil conspirators.
I'm sorry your husband is trapped in that system. He's far too young for them to have him so debilitated. I'll pray for both of you, and I hope you do the same. The system does not care for him, but loved ones can fill in the gap. You're a saint for sticking with him and helping him through; I think we'll have cures for all of it if he can told on another year. God bless!
Edit to add: I second the dietary advice of others, and I believe most of his issues ate caused by medical treatments designed to suppress earlier symptoms, but recognize those changes aren't easy. It's a slippery slope going down, and a hard climb going back up. But it can be done.
Very sorry to see what you and your husband are going through. I agree with what others have posted, to find a naturopath (kind of pricey) or holistic practitioner. More and more is being published about the dangers of many of the medications commonly prescribed for things like depression and high cholesterol.
I am 69, take no prescribed medications, but take supplements to replace what is no longer in our foods. I, too, have high cholesterol, but have never taken statins. Several years ago, I decided to cook and eat more like my great grandmother: more red meat, never low-fat anything, much less over-processed foods. For the first time in 3 decades my cholesterol came down a little. I feel good and see a doctor once a year, to satisfy Medicare. I refuse all vaccinations. I hope that your husband begins to improve. Prayers for both of you.
Sorry for all your issues. Could it be the doctors and hospital you are using? There are incompetent, good and even great hospitals out there in my experience.
You didn’t mention general location, for example, are you in more of a rural area or in a major city area? It can make a difference.
Maybe you need a new medical group to help you, if you have other choices.
Lots of good suggestions in here:
And I’ll add
Not medical advice, I eat crayons.
My suggestion is to find a naturopath Dr. I believe they will go over the med list to see if there are any interactions between meds that other doctors don't have time to or don't care to check. Most regular doctors will just treat symptoms instead of looking at the source, if one can be found.
So sorry to hear of your husband's poor health. If I were you I would try to find a Holistic MD practitioner that would help get your husband weaned off of many of the medications he is taking. Unfortunately the way western medicine is practiced in this country with big Pharma pushing pills not cures causes many more problems than it solves. I will add your husband to my prayers. God Bless you both.
Find a specialist in the field you need who does not take insurance. Pay out of pocket and get a second opinion.
The “doesn’t accept ANY insurance” part is key.
Good luck.
I worked IT in several healthcare orgs after a career mostly in manufacturing/distribution and real estate.
It opened my eyes for certain.
My experience is that the vast majority of providers are dedicated and well-intentioned. But they're caught in a system that severely regulates what they are able to do. Some are awake and aware and do their best to work within and around the system. Others are blissfully unaware and just do what they're told and were trained to do.
After I left, I still cautiously trusted that most are doing their best to help. COVID caused me to leave healthcare permanently but it wasn't until I got a mystery illness over this summer that I realized just what an expensive joke the whole sad system is. I could write an entire post about the crazy symptoms I had and the crazier path to not diagnosing the problem.
My wife had been doing a great job trying to lead me there and control my diet and health without being a scold. I realized that she was right all along.
I went on an anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal diet. Started exercising regularly. Dropped about 20lbs. Cut out sugar and caffeine. We eat mostly meat (stalking Walmart to snag steak on sale). Rarely have sweets. No seed oils, no processed foods, etc. It's a little expensive and we're fortunate we can afford it. OTOH, we also rarely eat out which offsets a lot of the cost.
Feel great. Can't wait for spring so I can start walking every morning again and loose some more weight.
I'd go to the local clinic in a heartbeat for stitches or a broken bone (but I would monitor every medication they gave me) but I'm through with "healthcare" in this country otherwise.
Also, beware supplements on Amazon. Most are placebos at best and dangerous at worst. There are so many I tried in the past with no effect and have retried in the last six months from researched brands only to find they actually do work when you get what you're buying.
Stop cholesterol meds and replace with Condroitin /glucosamine
Supposedly doctors learn this in school.
Since he is in bed 20 hours a day that environment is critical. The bed area could be affected by Electromagnetic Fields or Geopathic Stress. https://greatawakening.win/p/1ARwLJM7gG/if-cancer-treatment-does-not-wor/c/ Probably lacking fresh air and sunlight too. I am not a doctor. Maybe supplemental oxygen would help.
