I'm going to disagree with you on that one, fren. I'd rather pay property tax than income tax. My property tax isn't that much in the county where I live, and I know that most of it goes to my local emergency services, roads, and other stuff in the county. My income tax feels more like a punishment, and blood shoots out of my eyes when I think about how it's wasted at the state and federal levels.
So you are OK with never really owning the roof over your head? Everything that you mentioned (roads, emergency services) can be covered by a local sales tax.

And I also agree to disagree. I literally hate property taxes, and that is coming from a Blue, Blue state-Maryland-our property taxes are extremely high in Maryland. I hope you live in a MAGA state because Maryland is one of the worst and very close to DC. It sounds like you are doing much better in the state you live in.
