Question … “Mayor Mamdani has said he doesn't think wealthy people and corporations would actually leave if their taxes go up. Do you disagree?”
HOCHUL: “It's not a gamble I want to take because we're already down ~$13 BILLION in revenues from people who did leave our state.” LIBS eating LIBS 😏

🧠 These people are STUPID!
I'm so petty I don't drive on the thruway to screw them out of tolls and buy untaxed gas on an Indian reservation. F this state.
Ty for your service
I used to do that too. Heading to the Rez for gas and smokes on the backroads. Lol
The problem is they also sell weed. So now people are lost AND high.
I am perfectly content to watch this latest experiment in socialism and see how it turns out. Of course, I'm watching it safely from afar, the mountains of East Tennessee, but still it will be fascinating to watch as NYC drives out businesses and taxpayers and the rich, and then with little funding from the Federal government, see how their utopian fantasies actually work out in the real world.
Their goal is to run up deficits until a Democrat becomes president and props their communist experiments up with our tax dollars.
Could be.
The fuckers all moved to CT and made it deep blue shit hole BECAUSE THEY FUCKIN VOTE BLUE NO MATTER WHAT
They’re fucking up Virginia as well.
Shit these people couldn't run a lemonade stand almost all of them have no experience in the real world doing anything productive
Somebody needs to tell that dumba$$ socialist that REAL FREEDOM means people can spend THEIR OWN MONEY anywhere they DAMN WELL PLEASE!
Budget Gaps: The city faces significant shortfalls for upcoming fiscal years (e.g., $2.2B for FY2026, $10.4B for FY2027).
New York City's debt is substantial, with total liabilities over $300 billion as of 2022, leading to high per capita liabilities, though its debt management shows capacity within limits, with significant portions being tax-exempt debt for long-term capital needs, but concerns exist about exhausting borrowing capacity if current spending continues.
Did the WHs want him to win? Promised lots of free stuff and already has a $2.2B budget shortfall that will balloon to over $10B in the next fiscal year. The current budget is $116B.
It's quite possible the WH let him win. The whole country will see the failure of socialism. But then again, I'm sure someone will say that NY did socialism wrong.
Kalifornia ALREADY tried this “dog and pony” show.
See their results!
He's a fool. They're already leaving.
Reality....what a bummer!
