So I JUST read a comment from a commie friend on FB, and I quote "The SAVE Act has passed the House (April 2025) and is now pending in the U.S. Senate.
If passed, it would require documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote — a change that would DISPROPORTIONATELY burden women who changed their names due to marriage, divorce, or widowhood and do not have matching documents like a passport.
This bill risks serious voter disenfranchisement through bureaucracy. Call your Senators and tell them to vote NO."
As a woman who got married... I had to change my name on every ID, including my professional licenses, just by using a copy of my marriage license. Easy peasy. Women that are widowed, generally keep their husbands last name, they don't change it to their maiden name. And last... divorce is the same as marriage, paper wise. Just use the paper you get from the courts and from the state to prove who you are. This argument made me laugh though.
I told them how easy it was to change my name, even on my licenses. They came back with "well you are privileged. You have an easy time getting transportation to all the places you need to get to, and getting through all the government bureaucracy. Not everyone has it as good as you." So back to their everyone is poor and disabled, and YOU are able bodied and privileged. Same old boring story from them.

What they're really saying: "This will ruin another one of our voter fraud tactics where we stuff the ballot box using stolen 'maiden name' identities of married women!"
I was married twice lol. Everything in my possession has the correct last name. I got the real ID last March. Two marriages, one divorce, one death, but yep!

You need all that paperwork to get a Real-ID, that is required to fly - tell them.
